My god it's been forever....
Hey, remember me? No? I'm not surprised. It's been for-flippin-ever since I've been here. I forget where the emergency exits and the restrooms are, it's been so long.I've been exploring a few other creative outlets beyond the sticks and string lately. Since blog=personal show-n-tell site, I''ll be blabbering all about it right here. Just to keep in touch with the initial raison d'etre of the blog, though, let me throw out the fact that I'm making another Best Friend out of some greenish-gray silk and baby alpaca I picked up at a yarn store in Hayes Valley/ San Francisco on Sunday. I can't remember either the name of the shop or the brand of yarn, but I can tell you this WIP is a gift for me. I'm about 3 cable twists into it, and I'm using a set of Crystal Palace bamboo circs instead of my usual Turbos. The needles are a little experiment, just to see if maybe I'm missing something by being such an Addi fundamentalist. Honestly? I am still an Addi fundamentalist. I just adore the way the Turbos feel, and I think the bamboo tends to encourage yarns with splitty tendencies to go above and beyond the call of duty in that regard. I do have to say that the Crystal Palace needles are really beautiful, however. Just gorgeous!
