Honey, I'm home!

Ya'll it's craziness here. Pure craziness. You wouldn't believe me if I told what is going on, so I'm just going to keep mum about it. However, I will tell you this much- I've pulled out a UFO that is so old that I forgot I even had it. It's an afghan that I started to crochet about 4 years ago. How's that for old?

In other news, yes, I'm going back to Indianapolis next week. And I'm about to send my secret pal her final treat- can you believe we are at the end of SP9 already? I still have a couple of balls of yarn from my SP8 pal sitting on my desk waiting to be used or put into my stash. They are in exactly the same spot I put them in when they arrived. Sheesh I am lazy sometimes.

Thanks for the helpful tips ya'll, I really appreciate them. Hopefully as time goes on I'll end up with a smokin' hot blog layout. I wonder: at what point does a WIP get reclassified as a UFO?

I broke it already!

Ok, this new blog design is supposed to have a white background where
the text is, not this giant sea of purple, and it looks right when I
preview it in blogger. However, it is not working that way in real life
and I have no clue how to fix it. I hope ya'll will bear with me while
I sort this mess out.

I've redecorated the place

Well, after I fiddled with the archive problem today, I realized that all the blogs out there that I looked at for some help with that issue are SOOOO much cooler than mine. Lacking any real creative talent or webmaster skills (not to mention a total lack of attention span needed for something like this), I decided the best and easiest thing to do is just pick a new template from blogger. Which, as you can see, I have done sucessfully. I also picked out a nice matchy-matchy photo of the yarn I used to make the knitty felted messenger bag way back in 2005 and slapped that up there. And now, while I definitely don't have a cool blog in any sense of the word, I did get the exciting feeling of newness you get when you rearrange your furniture or discover an awesome new outfit you can make with clothes you already have in your closet.

Fixed!

Ok ya'll, since Blogger wasn't working fast enough to fix my issue with broken archives in the new Blogger world, I rolled up my sleeves and did a little tinkering of my own to see what I could do. I fixed it! Woohoo!

broken archives

You may have noticed that my archive links are no longer working. I migrated to the new Blogger and they just went kaplooey. About a gazillion other folks are having this problem too, if the blogger help group on google is to be believed. Hopefully there will be a fix that comes out, because nothing I have tried has helped (and believe me I tried every one of the million fixes posted on the blogger help site)...

Tangles

Ya'll, I made a big old mess trying to pull the center out of a ball of
yarn so I could find the end. Not to blame someone else for my
problems, but I think it was wound wrong, there were knots and twists
and tangles galore in that little rats nest bomb. I'll be rewinding all
night...
