Lookin' good!
I'm about 4" into my secret pal's stocking and can I just say that the
two strands of variegated malabrigo are terrific? Its a really nice
heathered look. I'll take a picture when I get my camera batteries
charged up.

Ok, people. I'm in a madhouse full of people who fly twice a year. I
just want everyone out there who falls into that category that airtravel
is not a full service operation. If you are not capable of lifting your
own bag, please don't try to carry it through security and on the
plane. I'm particularly talking to the lady in the red sweater and the
Princess Leia hairdo. All that time you think you saved by not having
to check a bag? Well you wasted it and mine. By the time we both got
off the plane, all the luggage was already circling the baggage claim.

Well here it is Sunday night, and I'm all packed and ready to go to indy
at 4am tomorrow. According to the Frontier Airlines website I've flown
over 22.000 miles in the last 6 weeks. Ya'll, I'm about damn tired of
being on an airplane...
I started making a christmas stocking for my secret pal. Its one of the
patterns in Handknit Holidays, I forget what its called. Its the one
that matches the tree skirt, and its in a beige and blue color scheme.
Except I'm making mine in a great pink and red malabrigo with olive
trim. Very festive, if I do say so myself.
I worked all day today, which is just as well considering it rained all
day. But really I'd have liked to put up my chrsitmas tree instead. I
guess i'll do it when I get back from Indy.
Gnight ya'll!

Well, Thanksgiving did not turn out the way I anticipated at all. Not
even one little bit. The sitcom that is my life continues with no signs
of letting up anytime soon. The shit that happened yesterday was
something even the writers of Friends couldn't dream up. Good thing I
have a sense of humor. I consoled myself with a new 16" #13 addi
circular from The Yarn Place this morning. I'd planned to watch Pride
and Predjudice and put my new needle to work tonight, but in yet another
comic turn of events disc 2 of my P&P set is no where to be found. Just
when I needed to see Mr Darcy and Lizzy live happily ever after, too.
Grrr. Maybe I'll go knit at a coffeeshop or something instead.
You know, I'm not really into chick lit, but the events of the last
month make me seriously consider writing my own contribution to the
pink-cover-with-lipstick-and-shoes-motif literary genre. I'm jumping a
little ahead of myself here, but I think I'd like either Catherine Bell
or Parminder Nagra to play the heroine in the Lifetime Movie
interpretation of this story.
You know, I didn't even get any pie yesterday?
I just took the bird out of the oven. It looks great. I hope ya'll all
have a great holiday!!

Yesterday I went down to Manresa to go surf (yep, same Manresa as the
legwarmers in Knitty). It was kinda crappy/ big/ closeout-y but it was
nice being outside anyway. When I got home I discovered a package from
my secret pal! Some yummy chocolate candy (hersheys and nestle peanut
butter treasures) and three luscious balls of Patons SWS soy/ wool in a
gorgeous colorway called natural earth. I'm going to make a hat for
myself with it. It's just gorgeous! Thanks pal! You Rock!!!

I am back from Indianapolis, and I don't have to go back till the Monday
after Thanksgiving. Yay! It's nice to be home, that's for sure.
I got a bit of knitting done on my malabrigo tote bag I am making. I
could never decide how I wanted to do it, and I finally said "just
flippin' make something!" so I am. I'm kinda just making it up as I go
along. We'll see how it ends up.
Tomorrow I am going to take myself for a bike ride along the Monterey
Bay Coastal Trail. I hope the weather is nice. Even if it's not I'm
going anyway. I feel like I have been indoors for a solid week. Maybe
that's because I HAVE been indoors for a week straight.
Happy Friday ya'll!

I went bowling with folks from work tonight and I got some ridiculously
wonderful score like 123 and I got a tiara as a prize. Woohoo!!

Guess where I'm off to tomorrow? Indianapolis! I think this is my 5th
trip there since mid-September. The last leg of the last trip home I
racked up the last few miles I needed to make elite status on Frontier
Airlines, which means now I get all the amenities like free in-flight
direct TV service, and priority checking and boarding. And that will
come in handy since I have about 5 more trips out there between now and
the end of the year...
The 155 is a reference to the number spam mails I have gotten since
midnight last night. SHEEEESH!

Yesterday I showed my gal pal Elecktra my training socks. She said I
should make some Christmas stockings, and well, all of a sudden I
realized that I could use some great pink and red variegated malabrigo
(from my last secret pal!!) and some olive green wool from my Grammie's
stash to make a smashing stocking. I can't decide if I want to felt it
or not- if I don't felt it I will use a pattern in Handknit Holidays,
but if I do felt it I will just make up something. I'd do one of each
but I know I'm a lazy person and I will only finish one by the
holidays....

I got a hankering for some jello so I made what is know back in world
where I grew up (Sherwood, Arkansas) as Congealed Salad. Its a fancy
way of saying jello with stuff in it. I made mine with sugar free
raspberry jello and coolwhip mixed together, with walnuts and
raspberries in it. Yum yum yum. Its my belated birthday cake, from me
to me.
And just before I ate myself almost-sick on congealed salad, I got a
suprise gift in the mail from my gal pal Betty. She sent me a whole
mess of goodies from Sephora, including a fabulous perfume called Pink
Sugar that smells just like cotton candy.
Golly, this has turned out to be the best Alternate Birthday ever.
